Transmission fluid

Transmission fluid is a specially formulated lubricant designed to keep the transmission system in a vehicle running smoothly. It helps to reduce friction and wear on the transmission components, ensures smooth shifting of gears, and prevents overheating by carrying heat away from the transmission. Additionally, transmission fluid also serves as a hydraulic fluid in automatic transmissions, enabling the system to function correctly. Over time, the fluid breaks down, becomes contaminated with debris, and loses its ability to protect the transmission, which can lead to poor shifting, reduced performance, or even transmission failure if not replaced at regular intervals.

Here when it matters most.

How often should it be changed?

The frequency of changing transmission fluid depends on the vehicle and the type of transmission. For many modern vehicles, the manufacturer recommends changing transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, but some newer models may have “lifetime” fluid that doesn’t need regular changes unless there’s a problem. It’s important to consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for specific recommendations. We’ll go over this with you during your regular oil change service.
